Bukedea, Uganda – October 25, 2025:
The 3rd Coronation Anniversary of His Royal Highness Papa Emorimor Paul Sande Etomeileng Emolot, King of the Iteso, was celebrated in grand style at Boma Grounds in Bukedea District, drawing distinguished royal, cultural, and political leaders from across Africa.
Among the esteemed international guests was a delegation from the Kingdom of Eswatini, led by Hon. Minister Skhumbuzo Thokozani Dlamini, Minister of Culture and Local Government. The Minister was accompanied by three Regional Administrators from his Government, whose participation underscored Eswatini’s enduring commitment to cultural cooperation and traditional leadership exchange within the African continent.
The Coronation also welcomed a royal delegation from the Republic of South Africa, featuring His Royal Highness King Kgosikgolo Lehasa Moloi II, King of the Makgolokwe a Mafehleng Basotho Tribe, and His Royal Highness Morena e Moholo M. Mota, Paramount Chief of the Batlokwa of QwaQwa, Free State.
Accompanying the South African royals were Princes Ayanda Mbatha from the Zulu Kingdom, Princess Boitumelo Monoketsi of the Tswana tribe, and Ms. Tsakani Maluleke, Founder and CEO of Ntombani Group (Pty) Ltd, representing civil society and the business sector. Their participation reflected a shared vision for continental unity through culture, dialogue, and economic collaboration.
Adding the diversity of the Celebration were distinguished guests from India, including Mr. Singh Paramjeet, and Syed Ghousia Sultan from an International University in India. Their presence symbolizes the growing global recognition of the Iteso Cultural Union’s efforts to build bridges across Cultures and Continents.
The successful coordination and reception of these international delegations were facilitated by Ambassador David Emoot, the Iteso Cultural Union Ambassador to the SADC Region and who also serves as the Diaspora Minister of Information and Technology. Ambassador Emoot together with Hon. David Asabo Minister of Investment played a central role in mobilizing and hosting the visiting dignitaries, ensuring the seamless integration of international guests into the Coronation program. His dedication and diplomatic engagement strengthened the ICU’s outreach and enhanced inter-cultural relations within the Southern African region.
In his message of appreciation, His Royal Highness Papa Emorimor expressed deep gratitude to the visiting delegations, emphasizing that “our shared heritage as Africans binds us together beyond borders — in peace, unity, and mutual respect.”
The Iteso Cultural Union (ICU) extends its profound thanks to all royal guests, ministers, and partners who graced the celebration, reaffirming its mission to preserve the Iteso identity and foster cultural diplomacy across Africa.
