As the year 2025 comes to a close, the Iteso Cultural kingdom ushers in 2026 with a renewed call for unity, peace, and shared responsibility. His Royal Highness Paul Sande Emolot Etoimeileng, the Emorimor Papa Iteso III, alongside Her Royal Highness Juliet Among Emolot Atomeileng, the Akaliait Toto Iteso, has released an inspiring New Year message rooted in hope, reconciliation, and regional development.
Speaking through the Akaliait Development Foundation (AKADEF) in Soroti, the royal household extended heartfelt wishes to the people of Teso, development partners, and all Ugandans as they step into 2026. The message emphasizes the importance of working together to build a peaceful and dignified future for generations to come.
A Call for Peace, Reconciliation, and Collective Strength
In their address to the public, the Emorimor and Akaliait expressed their desire for 2026 to be a year marked by positive transformation, restored unity, and renewed commitment to cultural and social growth. They encouraged families, leaders, and institutions to embrace forgiveness, collaboration, and shared vision as tools for progress.
“May the new year be filled with joy, peace, good health, and endless possibilities for every family,” the royal message reads.
“As we welcome 2026, let us stand together in unity and responsibility. The future of our communities rests in the strength of our togetherness.”
This appeal for unity arrives at a critical time, as communities continue to rebuild from economic challenges, social divisions, and the wider ripple effects of national and regional transitions.

• Encouraging youth participation in leadership and economic opportunity
Through AKADEF, the royal household remains committed to uplifting vulnerable communities, supporting women and youth empowerment programs, and advancing long-term strategies for social and economic transformation within Teso.
