Presidential Contribution Boosts Construction of Ere Iteso
The President of the Republic of Uganda, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who also served as the Chief Fundraiser for the Ere Iteso project, has contributed UGX 500 million towards the construction of Ere Iteso, marking a significant milestone in the realization of a permanent cultural home for the Iteso people.
The announcement was made by the Vice President of Uganda, Jessica Alupo, who represented the President as the Guest of Honour and Chief Fundraiser during the groundbreaking ceremony and fundraising launch. The President is currently in Arusha attending a gathering of Heads of State of the East African Community.
The President’s generous contribution provides a major boost to the fundraising campaign aimed at constructing Ere Iteso, a landmark cultural institution that will serve as the heritage and administrative home of the Iteso people.
The initiative is spearheaded by the Ere Iteso Constrution Committee under the Supervision of the Kingdom’s Prime Minister Andrew Ocole who reports directly to his boss The Emorimor Papa Iteso Paul Sande Emolot Etomeileng 111.
Once completed, Ere Iteso will stand as a symbol of unity, cultural pride, and heritage preservation for present and future generations of the Iteso community.
